Updated PFCC Software Required
If you operate Airbus Canada Model BD-500-1A10 or BD-500-1A11 airplanes, the FAA now requires installing updated primary flight control computer (PFCC) software to address an unsafe condition. This AD supersedes AD 2022-25-51 and adds the software-installation requirement for those airplane models.
Installation Terminates AFM Rule
Once the updated PFCC software is installed on an affected BD-500-1A10 or BD-500-1A11 airplane, that software installation terminates the AFM revision requirement and removes the airplane from the AD's applicability. Installing the software therefore ends the manual warning and limitation required by the earlier AD.
AFM Warning and Limitation Continue
The AD continues to require the previous revision to the airplane flight manual (AFM) that added a new warning and a new limitation per AD 2022-25-51. Operators must keep that AFM revision in effect until they install the updated PFCC software.
