New Operator Keeps Trains Running
If you ship goods on the Georgiana Line (33 miles between Georgiana and Andalusia) or the Andalusia Line (2.64 miles in Andalusia), Georgiana & Andalusia Railroad (GAR) will replace Three Notch Railway as the operator and assume the common carrier obligation. This change can be completed on or after October 4, 2025, and GAR says it will purchase the Georgiana track and assume the leases for both lines.
Interchange Rights Kept Intact
GAR certifies that the agreement to replace the current operator does not include any provision that would limit future interchange with a third-party connecting carrier. That means businesses that rely on connecting carriers should continue to be able to interchange traffic with other railroads.
