UTair Temporarily Barred From Export Activities

The U.S. Commerce Department renewed a temporary denial order that bars UTair Aviation JSC from participating in any transaction involving items subject to the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). The Order is effective immediately and will remain in effect for one year, and UTair (including successors, agents, or employees) may not apply for, obtain, or use any license related to EAR items except activities directly related to safety of flight and authorized by BIS under Section 764.3(a)(2).

U.S. Persons Prohibited from Exports to UTair

The Order prohibits any person from exporting, reexporting, transferring, financing, facilitating acquisition, servicing (installation, maintenance, repair, modification, or testing), or otherwise providing EAR-controlled items to or for UTair except for activities directly related to safety of flight and authorized by BIS under Section 764.3(a)(2). The prohibition also bars benefiting from transactions involving EAR items tied to UTair.
