Options Allowed on Rule 6c-11 ETFs
The Miami International Securities Exchange amended Rule 402 to permit listing options on exchange-traded funds that meet SEC Rule 6c-11 and are listed under the generic listing process in Rule 19b-4(e). If you hold or trade ETFs (as defined by Rule 6c-11), this lets options on those ETF shares be listed and traded on MIAX under the Exchange's options rules.
Immediate Operative Effect for Listings
The Exchange filed the proposed rule change on September 9, 2025, and the SEC waived the normal 30-day operative delay so the change became operative upon filing. That means options on qualifying Rule 6c-11 ETF shares can be listed and commence trading immediately under the amended Rule 402.
Existing Rules and Surveillance Still Apply
Options listed on qualifying ETF shares will be traded under MIAX's existing options trading rules and surveillance programs, and remain subject to position limits such as those in Exchange Rule 307. This keeps listing of these new options within the Exchange's current oversight and risk controls.
