PPE and Medical Imports Under Review

On September 2, 2025 the Department of Commerce opened a Section 232 investigation into imports of personal protective equipment (PPE), medical consumables, and medical equipment (including devices). The investigation could lead to new import rules that change how these products come into the country and that may affect prices or availability for makers, sellers, and users.

Stakeholders Invited To Submit Comments

The Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) is asking interested parties to submit written comments, data, analyses, or other information relevant to the Section 232 investigation. If you make, sell, or use PPE or medical supplies, you can send information to BIS to share your views on the investigation.
