ACRS Narrows Reviews Under E.O. 14300
The Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards (ACRS) will reduce its functions to the minimum necessary and focus permitting and licensing reviews only on issues that are 'truly novel and noteworthy' under Executive Order 14300 (dated May 23, 2025). The ACRS will only undertake other work as directed by the Commission under Sections 29 and 182b of the Atomic Energy Act (42 U.S.C. 2039, 2232(b)).
Kemmerer Construction Permit Review
On November 20, 2025, the ACRS will review the Kemmerer nuclear plant construction permit application. A portion of that session may be closed under 5 U.S.C. 552b(c)(4) to discuss and protect information designated as proprietary.
Hybrid Meeting and Remote Access
The ACRS meeting on November 20, 2025 will be partly in-person and partly online; interested members of the public can participate remotely via Microsoft Teams or by phone at 301-576-2978 with passcode 578196209#.
