The National Park Service is asking the public to share their thoughts on historic places nominated before September 6, 2025, to be added to the National Register of Historic Places. If you care about preserving cool old buildings and sites, now’s your chance to speak up by December 2, 2025. This process helps protect important landmarks without costing you a dime!

Public comment open on nominations

You can submit electronic comments about properties that were nominated before September 6, 2025, for listing in the National Register of Historic Places. Send comments by December 2, 2025 to [email protected] (subject line: "Public Comment on .") or mail them to National Register of Historic Places, National Park Service, 1849 C Street NW, MS 2013, Washington, DC 20240.

Specific properties nominated in four states

The notice lists specific properties being considered for listing: St. John's Church, Western Run Parish (Reisterstown, Baltimore County, Maryland); Balch Gulch Bridge (Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon); Methodist Episcopal Church of Union (Union, Union County, Oregon); Cuckoo Elementary School (Mineral, Louisa County, Virginia); and Luling School (Manitowoc, Manitowoc County, Wisconsin). Nominations were received before September 6, 2025 and are open for public comment by December 2, 2025.
