Summary

The Department of Agriculture wants your thoughts on a new info collection about how food companies respond to safety issues. Food Businesses Must Share Noncompliance Records

If FSIS finds safety rule violations in your food establishment, inspectors issue a Noncompliance Record (NR) and establishment management can respond in writing (response is voluntary). This information collection covers 7,057 business respondents and totals 13,996 burden hours. Comments on this collection are due by December 17, 2025.

Medical Exams for FSIS Job Applicants

If you apply for an FSIS in-plant job (Food Inspector, Consumer Safety Inspector, or Veterinary Medical Officer), FSIS uses Form 4339-1 to collect a Certificate of Medical Examination to determine if you meet OPM medical qualification standards. FSIS may also collect medical documentation for reasonable accommodation using Form 4306-5; the collection lists 1,250 respondents and 1,542 total burden hours. Comments on this collection are due by December 17, 2025.
