If you operate a coal mining company in Ohio, starting December 17, 2025 your permit applications will no longer have to include the resident agent's employer identification number (EIN) or the last four digits of their Social Security number (SSN). The change is intended to speed up permitting and protect privacy without adding cost or delays.
Resident Agent Contact Info Still Required
If you apply for a coal mining permit in Ohio (other than as a sole proprietor), your application must include the resident agent's name, address, and telephone numbers starting December 17, 2025. This keeps a contact for service of process while removing the requirement to provide the agent's EIN or SSN digits.
