Summary

The Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards (ACRS) is meeting December 3-5, 2025, to focus only on the most important and new nuclear safety issues, thanks to a recent government order. The meeting will be partly in-person and partly remote, making it easy for the public to join and stay informed.

ACRS Narrowed Review Focus Under E.O. 14300

Under Executive Order 14300, the ACRS will reduce its functions to the minimum necessary and limit its review of permitting and licensing issues to items that are truly novel and noteworthy. Public Can Join Remotely by Teams or Phone

The ACRS meeting on December 3-5, 2025 will be conducted with some Members in-person and others remote, and interested members of the public are encouraged to participate remotely via Microsoft Teams or by phone at 301-576-2978, passcode 588404761#. A detailed agenda and the Microsoft Teams link are available on the ACRS public website.

Rules To Present Oral or Written Statements

Members of the public may present oral or written views at the December 3-5, 2025 ACRS meeting, but persons desiring to make oral statements should notify the cognizant ACRS staff and Designated Federal Officer (DFO) 5 days before the meeting if possible, and electronic copies of presentations should be emailed at least 3 days before the meeting.
