LIRR Seeks Multi‑Year Delay For Onboard Cameras
The Long Island Rail Road asked FRA on August 12, 2025 for more time to meet a new rule (49 CFR 229.136) that requires locomotive image and audio recorders to be aimed parallel to the track, include an accurate time/date stamp, and switch to infrared in low light.
