ENERGY STAR Data Collection Continues
If you are an ENERGY STAR partner or recognized body (manufacturers, retailers, certification bodies), EPA is extending its information collection for the ENERGY STAR label. The renewal covers an estimated 3,877 respondents, with a total estimated burden of 44,110 hours per year and total estimated respondent costs of $3,018,554.69 per year (with $0 in annualized capital or O&M costs).
Certification Bodies' Reporting & Testing Rules
EPA requires EPA-recognized third-party certification bodies (CBs) to share certified-product information via an XML-based automated data exchange and to conduct post-market verification testing on a sampling of ENERGY STAR certified products. CBs must share verification information with EPA twice a year, and thermostats have additional reporting requirements.
Partners Must Report Shipments and Follow Rules
ENERGY STAR partners (retailers, energy efficiency program sponsors, service providers, and product brand owners) are asked to submit data on annual shipments, installations, and incentives and must sign Partnership Agreements that require following logo-use guidelines and program requirements. Partners may also submit applications if they want ENERGY STAR recognition.
