Florida Citrus Survey Method Change

If you are a Florida citrus grower, processor, or handler, NASS proposes to stop the Florida Citrus Processors Inquiry and include Florida in the Quarterly Citrus Survey. Florida will adopt the California version of the Quarterly Citrus Survey questionnaire; the change adds Florida to the sampling frame and makes scheduling adjustments but does not change the core survey instruments.

Survey Participation Time Burden

If you run a farm or ag business, the Fruit, Nut, and Specialty Crops information collection lists 56,215 respondents and a total burden of 28,792 hours. The surveys may be requested with frequencies described as: on occasion; annually; semi‑annually; quarterly; monthly; and weekly.

Legal Privacy Protections for Respondents

If you provide data to NASS, individually identifiable respondent data are protected under Section 1770 of the Food Security Act of 1985 (7 U.S.C. 2276) and Title III of Public Law 115-435 (CIPSEA), which require strict confidentiality for non-aggregated data.
