RRB Data Used to Verify SSI/SVB
The Social Security Administration (SSA) will receive Railroad Retirement Board (RRB) annuity payment data to verify Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Special Veterans Benefits (SVB) eligibility and benefit payment amounts. The match is set to begin on March 2, 2026 (or later if 30 days after publication is required) and will run for 18 months.
Monthly Matching and Record Updates
RRB will send a monthly electronic file of annuity payment data (about 560,000 records) that SSA will match to the Supplemental Security Income Record (SSR), which contains about 10.4 million records. SSA will match Social Security number, name, date of birth, and RRB claim number and will record the railroad annuity amounts paid to SSI and SVB recipients in the SSR.
