U.S. persons barred from dealing
On November 20, 2025, OFAC added MAHAN AIR and specific named aircraft and vessels to the Specially Designated Nationals (SDN) List. All property and interests in property subject to U.S. jurisdiction of those listed are blocked, and U.S. persons are generally prohibited from engaging in transactions with them, meaning assets in the U.S. are frozen and transactions are barred.
Secondary sanctions risk warned
The notice identifies certain aircraft and vessels as having 'secondary sanctions risk' under section 1(b) of Executive Order 13224 (as amended) and under E.O. 13902. Counterparties that deal with the named vessels, aircraft, or linked entities (for example, ALTOMARE S.A., PIONEER TANKERS MARINE INCORPORATED, and others listed) are identified as carrying potential secondary sanctions risk as of November 20, 2025.
