Reporting and Audits for Sexual Assault Policy

MARAD will continue collecting information from commercial vessel operators to confirm acceptance of sexual assault policies and to oversee compliance through reporting and audits during initial enrollment and subsequent Sea Years. Respondents are commercial vessel operators employing U.S. Merchant Marine cadets; responses occur once annually and/or following an incident of sexual assault or harassment.

Paperwork Reduced for Cadet Training Forms

The Maritime Administration will renew OMB Control No. 2133-0553 for Mariner Cadet Training forms but will remove outdated form placeholders, which decreases the total public paperwork burden. The renewal covers about 75 respondents, with an estimated annual total burden of 108.75 hours and responses occurring once annually (or after an incident); comments are due by January 27, 2026.
