Rule

Summary

The Commerce Control List just got a quick fix to clear up some confusing wording about metals and alloys. If you deal with exporting metals, this update reminds you that both raw and partly made forms are covered, so don’t try to sneak anything past the rules! This correction is effective immediately and helps keep trade fair and clear without changing fees or deadlines.

Metals and Alloys Export Rule Clarified

If you export metals or alloys covered by Commerce Control List entries 1C001 through 1C011, this correction reinstates a Technical Note making clear that both crude forms (for example: bars, ingots, powder, pellets) and semi-fabricated forms (for example: sheets, rods, tubes, castings) are included. The rule also says exporters cannot avoid controls by calling controlled crude or semi‑fabricated items “finished” products.
