3 provisions identified: 2 benefits, 1 costs, 0 mixed.

Ongoing Paperwork for LLRW Shippers

If your company ships low-level radioactive waste (LLRW) for disposal at a licensed land disposal facility, you must keep completing NRC Forms 541 and 541A (or Agreement State equivalent) when the waste is transferred. The NRC estimates 4,616 annual responses, 712 respondents, and 15,233 hours needed each year to comply.

Allowed Use of Equivalent Substitute Forms

Licensees do not have to use the original NRC Forms 541/541A as long as any substitute forms are equivalent in content, clarity, size, and location of information. This lets shippers use alternative but equivalent paperwork instead of the exact NRC form layout.

Renewal Keeps Current Forms Unchanged

The NRC is renewing OMB approval for Forms 541 and 541A and states the current extension request does not include any changes to the forms. That means businesses will continue using the same forms and instructions without new reporting changes from this renewal.
