The Coast Guard is setting up a safety zone on Sandusky Bay for the New Year's Eve fireworks on December 31, 2025, from 6 to 7 p.m., and again from noon to 1 a.m. on January 1, 2026. Sandusky Bay New Year Safety Zone

If you plan to boat on Sandusky Bay, you may not enter the safety zone without permission from the Captain of the Port Detroit from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on December 31, 2025, and from 12 p.m. to 1 a.m. on January 1, 2026. This will pause vessel access in the regulated area for those times, so plan alternate routes or timing if you will be nearby.
