Notice
Summary
Mexico Pacific Limited LLC is updating the government about changes in who owns part of their company that deals with natural gas. This notice lets everyone know about the new ownership details and invites the public to share their thoughts by December 29, 2025. If you’re involved or interested, now’s the time to speak up before the deadline!
Analyzed Economic Effects
3 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 1 costs, 1 mixed.
Foreign ownership may trigger CFIUS review
One minority owner is Sonvapor LP, an Ontario (Canada) limited partnership, so the change in control includes foreign economic interests and may require approval by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS). The Department of Energy states it expresses no opinion on whether CFIUS review is needed.
Automatic grant if no protests filed
If no interested person protests the change in control and DOE takes no action on its own motion, the proposed change in control will be deemed granted 30 days after publication in the Federal Register. If protests are filed, DOE will review them and decide whether the change makes the authorizations inconsistent with the public interest.
Public comment and protest deadline
If you are an interested person, you can file protests, motions to intervene, notices of intervention, or written comments about the Mexico Pacific Limited LLC change in control. Filings must be received by 4:30 p.m., Eastern time, on December 29, 2025; DOE strongly encourages electronic filing to [email protected].
