Required Manlift Inspections and Records
If you operate manlifts, each manlift must be inspected at least once every 30 days and its limit switches checked weekly under 29 CFR 1910.68(e). After each inspection you must prepare and keep a certification record that contains the date of inspection, the signature of the person who performed the inspection, and the serial number or other identifier of the inspected manlift, and make that record available to OSHA compliance officers.
OMB Extension Retains Reporting Burden
OSHA is requesting that OMB extend approval of the Manlifts Standard information collection and seeks to retain the estimated annual burden of 37,800 hours, with 36,000 responses from 3,000 respondents and an estimated operation and maintenance cost of $0. Comments on this extension are due by February 17, 2026.
