STC may be declared abandoned June 16, 2026

If the FAA does not receive any response by June 16, 2026, it will consider Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) No. SA1584SW abandoned and proceed to release the related engineering data to requesters under the Freedom of Information Act. The FAA notes the STC has had no activity for more than 3 years and says releasing the data is to maintain airworthiness and enhance aviation safety.

Owners must claim STC with notarized ID

If you are the owner, heir, or transferee of STC No. SA1584SW, you must contact Richard Bolden at the FAA and, if claiming as an heir or transferee, provide a notarized copy of government-issued identification and documentation establishing ownership. The FAA sent a certified letter on April 18, 2025 requesting a written response within 60 days; failure to respond by June 16, 2026 will result in the FAA treating the STC as abandoned.

STC covers specific Gulfstream aircraft models

STC No. SA1584SW covers single and dual camera installations, navigation sight installations, drop port installation, and emergency exit and door optical glass installations for Gulfstream American models 680FL(P), 680T, 680V, 680W, 681, 690, 680F(Press), 690A, 685, 690B, 690C, and 695. Operators or maintenance personnel for these listed models could request the FAA-held engineering data if the STC is designated abandoned.
