Request to Boost LNG Output 251 Bcf/y
Corpus Christi Liquefaction and partner CCL Midscale filed an application asking the Commission to increase LNG production for Midscale Trains 1-9 by 251 billion cubic feet per year, from the currently authorized 752.14 Bcf/y to about 1,003.14 Bcf/y. The change is proposed for the Corpus Christi Liquefaction Terminal in San Patricio and Nueces Counties, Texas.
90-Day Environmental Review Milestones
Within 90 days of this notice, Commission staff will either complete its environmental review and place it in the public record or issue a Notice of Schedule for Environmental Review. The Notice will indicate the anticipated date for a final environmental impact statement (FEIS) or environmental assessment (EA), and federal authorizations must be completed within 90 days of issuance of the FEIS or EA.
Applicant Says No New Construction or Impacts
The applicants state the production increase is based on refinements and will not involve construction activities, will not increase LNG carrier transits beyond authorized levels, and will have no environmental or landowner impacts. These statements refer to the existing Corpus Christi facility in Texas.

Any person may file comments, protests, or a motion to intervene in Docket No. CP26-36-000 at no fee. The deadline to file a motion to intervene and to submit comments or protests is 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time on January 6, 2026.
