Apply to the Grain Advisory Committee
If you work in the grain industry (producers, processors, handlers, merchandisers, exporters, scientists, or consumers), you can be nominated to serve on the 15-member USDA Grain Inspection Advisory Committee. To apply, submit form AD-755 by email so your nomination is considered by January 29, 2026.
Service Is Unpaid, Travel Reimbursed
Members serve without pay but USDA reimburses travel expenses and provides per diem for travel away from home or regular place of business under 5 U.S.C. 5703. That means you would not receive a salary but your travel costs to committee meetings can be paid by USDA.
Committee Size and Term Limits
The Advisory Committee has 15 members appointed by the Secretary of Agriculture, and no member may serve more than two successive terms. The Committee meets at least once each year to advise AMS on implementation of the U.S. Grain Standards Act.
Accessibility and Non‑Discrimination Assurances
USDA affirms equal opportunity in committee appointments and provides accommodations for persons with disabilities (e.g., Braille, large print, audiotape, American Sign Language) via the Agency or USDA's TARGET Center at (202) 720-2600 or the Federal Relay Service at (800) 877-8339. Applicants can request alternative communications to participate in nomination and committee processes.
