EPA clears two new chemical submissions
Between July 1, 2025 and September 30, 2025, EPA found that certain new chemical submissions are "not likely to present an unreasonable risk". The notice lists case numbers P-24-0139 and P-24-0145; the submitter for a notice with that finding may commence manufacture of the chemical substance even if part of the 90-day review period remains.
90-day premanufacture notice requirement remains
If you plan to manufacture or import a new chemical for a non-exempt commercial purpose, or to start a use EPA designates a "significant new use," you must submit a notice to EPA at least 90 days before you start. This requirement is stated under TSCA section 5(a) and applies to premanufacture notices (PMNs), MCANs, and SNUNs.
