VA Shares Records with Treasury

The VA will share records with the U.S. Department of the Treasury using the Do Not Pay Working System to identify, prevent, or recoup improper payments to an applicant for, or recipient of, Federal funds. This change applies to people applying for or receiving federal funds from the VA and becomes effective a minimum of 30 days after publication in the Federal Register (publication date January 15, 2026).
