Deadline and Procedure to Protest Plats
If you want to protest one or more plats, you must file a written notice of protest with the BLM State Director in Anchorage by February 19, 2026. Protests may be mailed to BLM State Director, Alaska State Office, 222 West 7th Avenue, Anchorage, AK 99513 or delivered in person to the BLM Alaska Public Information Center, must identify the plat(s), and a written statement of reasons not filed with the notice must be submitted within 30 calendar days after the notice of protest is filed.
Protest Stays Official Filing Until Resolved
If the BLM receives a notice of protest before the scheduled filing date, the official filing of that plat will be stayed until the protest is dismissed or resolved; the plat will not be officially filed while protests remain. A notice of protest is considered filed on the date it is received during regular business hours (or the next business day if received after hours).
Personal Information May Become Public
If you include your address, phone number, email, or other personally identifiable information in a notice of protest or statement of reasons, those documents may be made publicly available in their entirety. You can ask the BLM to withhold your personally identifiable information from public review, but the BLM states it cannot guarantee it will be able to do so.

The notice lists specific U.S. Survey numbers and acceptance dates (for example, U.S. Survey No. 3426, supplemental plat accepted July 22, 2025; U.S. Survey No. 14666, accepted August 19, 2025; and additional townships and ranges accepted August 18–20, 2025).
