Respondent Time Burden: 18,772 Hours Annually

NIFA estimates the total annual burden for this information collection is 18,772 hours across 76 respondents, with an average of 247 hours per response. The figure includes participant education and data entry, aggregation and reporting, and preparation, review, and submission of program plans and budget information.

Program Plans/Budgets Tied to Federal EFNEP Funds

EFNEP program plans and budgetary data are now submitted, reviewed, and approved through the WebNEERS system, and those specific reporting requirements are tied to release of Federal EFNEP funds.

EFNEP Data Collection Extended Three Years

The USDA NIFA plans to extend and revise the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) information collection for three years. EFNEP operates through Land Grant Universities in all 50 States, DC, and U.S. territories and supports educators and volunteers who teach food and nutrition to families and youth with limited financial resources.

New Youth Questionnaire and Direct App

NIFA is adding a Youth Food and Physical Activity Questionnaire for grades 6-12 and enabling a youth direct data app so youth participants can enter their own responses. These changes are intended to better capture outcomes for older youth participants.
