Possible Ban on Wound-Imaging Devices
The U.S. International Trade Commission has opened an investigation (Investigation No. 337-TA-1483) into certain medical imaging devices described as “medical imaging devices for the identification, diagnosis, and treatment of wounds” for alleged infringement of U.S. Patent No. 10,438,356. If the Commission finds a violation, it can issue a limited exclusion order and/or cease and desist orders that could block those devices from being imported into or sold in the United States.

The complaint naming MolecuLight Inc. and MolecuLight Corp. as complainants was filed December 29, 2025 (with supplements Jan 12, 14, and 20, 2026), and the Commission named Kent Imaging Inc. (Calgary) and Adiuvo Diagnostics Pvt. Ltd. (Chennai) as respondents in the January 28, 2026 notice. Respondents must file responses in accordance with 19 CFR 210.13 and such responses will be considered if received not later than 20 days after service; failure to timely respond may be deemed a waiver and can lead to findings and issuance of exclusion or cease and desist orders without further notice.
