Temporary Safety Zone on Saginaw River
From 8 a.m. on February 7, 2026 until 8 a.m. on April 1, 2026, the Coast Guard prohibits people on foot and recreational vehicles from entering U.S. navigable waters of the Saginaw River within 400 yards upriver and 600 yards downriver of the Lafayette Bridge. To enter the zone you must get permission from the Captain of the Port Sector Detroit or their designated representative (contact via VHF-FM channel 16).
