New OPM E-File for Federal Appeals

The system covers appeals under 5 CFR parts 511, 532, 536 (subpart D), 5 CFR 178 Subpart A, and 5 CFR 551 (subpart G), and OPM has proposed adding probationary/trial period and suitability action appeals. OPM is accepting public comments on this collection through April 7, 2026 (OMB Control Number 3206-NEW).

Information-Collection Time Burden

OPM estimates the new E-File information collection will involve 1,380 respondents spending about 25 minutes each, for a total burden of 575 hours. If you respond, OPM estimates you will spend roughly 25 minutes to complete the electronic filing associated with this collection (OMB Control Number 3206-NEW).
