Unified Data Management Plan Reduces Burden
CDC created a single Data Management Plan (DMP) template for Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) awards to be used across CDC. The agency says using this unified DMP will reduce researcher burden when applying and updating DMPs, reduce CDC staff time reviewing DMPs, and improve data sharing and reproducibility.
Researchers Must Complete DMP — Time Burden
Researchers who respond to CDC NOFO announcements are expected to complete the CDC NOFO DMP. CDC estimates an initial response takes 1.5 hours, an update takes 15 minutes, the annual burden is 959 hours, and the total requested approval is for 2,877 burden hours over three years; there is no cost to respondents other than their time.
