If you want to speak up or get involved, you’ve got until the set deadline to file your protest or intervention.
Analyzed Economic Effects
3 provisions identified: 2 benefits, 1 costs, 0 mixed.
Project Becomes Authorized If No Protest
If no protest is filed by the deadline (5:00 p.m. ET on April 10, 2026), or if a filed protest is withdrawn within 30 days after that deadline, the requested abandonment and removal will be deemed authorized effective the day after the protest deadline (i.e., April 11, 2026). That deemed authorization happens automatically unless a timely, sustained protest remains.
Intervenor Status Required to Appeal
Only persons who file a timely motion to intervene (by 5:00 p.m. ET on April 10, 2026) become intervenors and have the right to request rehearing of Commission orders and to challenge those orders in the U.S. Circuit Courts of Appeal. Filing a comment alone does not make you a party with appeal rights.
Deadline to Protest or Intervene
You can file a protest, motion to intervene, or comment about the Texas Eastern pipeline project (Docket No. CP26-78-000) by 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time on April 10, 2026. Filing is free and can be done electronically using FERC eFiling or by mailing a paper copy to the Commission.
