Historic Railcar Waiver Extension Request
Railtown 1897 asked the Federal Railroad Administration to extend a waiver so it can keep operating one historic railcar, SRY 7, that is more than 50 years old without the stenciling required by 49 CFR 215.303 and the reflectorization required by part 224. The park says SRY 7 will be used for excursion trains and occasional film and photo work, the petition was received December 19, 2025 (Docket FRA-2010-0124), and FRA will accept comments through March 16, 2026.
