The Trade Advisory Committee on Africa (TACA) is being renewed for a new four-year charter term (four years from the date of filing). Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance or complete a background investigation and non-disclosure agreement. USTR notes DOJ-facilitated background investigations would cost around $370 per clearance.
Strict U.S. Organization Eligibility Rules
Representative members must represent a U.S. organization that meets specific control and revenue tests: more than 50 percent of the board and membership must be U.S. citizens/U.S. entities, and at least 50 percent of the organization's annual revenue must come from nongovernmental U.S. sources.

SGE Appointees Face Disclosure Rules
A very limited number of members may serve in an individual capacity as special government employees (SGEs). SGEs are subject to conflict-of-interest rules and may have to complete a financial disclosure report.
