Apply for NDWAC Three‑Year Seats
The EPA is inviting nominations for three-year appointments to the 15-member National Drinking Water Advisory Council. Nominations must arrive no later than April 8, 2026; EPA may also consider nominations to fill vacancies through the end of 2026. The Council’s statutory membership includes five members from the general public, five from state and local water agencies, and five from private organizations (two of whom shall be associated with small, rural public water systems).
Meeting Frequency and Time Commitment
NDWAC members will meet at least once each year and may hold additional meetings during the year; meetings are typically one to two days and may be in-person or virtual. Members may also be asked to join ad hoc working groups to develop recommendations, advice letters, and reports.
Travel, Per Diem, and Possible Pay
NDWAC members may receive travel and per diem allowances where appropriate and, where appropriate, compensation for time spent during travel and while attending meetings, in accordance with Federal Travel Regulations.
Special Government Employee Ethics Requirement
All NDWAC members serve as Special Government Employees (SGEs). Candidates invited to serve will be asked to submit the Confidential Financial Disclosure Form for EPA SGEs (EPA Form 3110-48) so ethics officials can assess statutory conflicts of interest and appearances of loss of impartiality.
