Background Check Fee for SGI Access
If you need access to Safeguards Information (SGI) to take part in the hearing, you (or each individual who will view SGI) must pay a $403 background check fee to the NRC. You also must complete fingerprint Form FD-258 and Form SF-85 as part of the trustworthiness and reliability screening.
Tight Deadline To Request Sensitive Information
If you want access to Sensitive Unclassified Non-Safeguards Information (SUNSI) or SGI to prepare contentions, you must request access within 10 days of publication—by March 23, 2026. Late requests after that date will not be considered unless good cause is shown.
Public Comment and Hearing Filing Deadlines
You can submit public comments on the license amendment until April 10, 2026, and must file any request for a hearing or petition to intervene by May 11, 2026. Petitions must follow the NRC's E-Filing rules and be submitted by 11:59 p.m. ET on the due date, and potential filers should obtain a digital ID certificate in advance.
