Medicare 'Good Cause' Reinstatement Process
If you were disenrolled from a Medicare Advantage or Part D plan for nonpayment, CMS accepts requests to reinstate your enrollment without interruption when the missed payment was due to circumstances you could not reasonably foresee or control (for example, an unexpected hospitalization). CMS is collecting this information using Form CMS-10544 (OMB control number 0938-1271); the agency estimates 54,789 respondents and 54,789 annual responses, totaling 36,490 annual hours. You can comment on this information collection by May 18, 2026.
