Wireless Microphones May Operate Closer
The FCC rule (47 CFR 74.802(b)), as adopted in FCC 14-50 on June 2, 2014, permits low power auxiliary stations (LPAS), including wireless microphones, to operate in TV broadcast bands at revised distances and allows LPAS to operate even closer to television stations if the LPAS operations are coordinated with the affected TV broadcast stations. The current notice seeks OMB approval to extend the information collection that supports that coordination process (47 CFR 74.802d(b)(2)).
