Job Corps SEA survey continues
If you are a Job Corps applicant or student, the Department of Labor will continue the voluntary Student Experience Assessment (SEA) surveys. The collection is estimated at 48,000 respondents, administered biannually, with an average of 0.33 hours per response and a total annual burden of 15,840 hours; it is authorized under WIOA and tied to OMB Control Number 1205-0543.
Survey items revised to reduce burden
The SEA has been revised: some survey items were removed to reduce duplicative data collection and improve focus, and new items were added to assess additional aspects of Job Corps programming and operation. The revision is also accompanied by a decrease in the estimated number of respondents and a decrease in the frequency of administration.
Student records protected under Privacy Act
Applicant and student data collected for the SEA are maintained in accordance with the Department's Privacy Act System of Records Notice (SORN) DOL/GOVT-2. The collection is subject to the Paperwork Reduction Act and requires OMB approval (OMB Control Number 1205-0543).
SEA forms available in English and Spanish
The Student Experience Assessment will be available in both English and Spanish versions. This makes it easier for Spanish-speaking Job Corps applicants and students to respond in their preferred language.
