Bering Sea sectors get extra pollock
NMFS adds pollock to the Bering Sea allocations for 2026: 6,300 metric tons (mt) of the Aleut Corporation's directed fishing allowance (DFA) is apportioned to Bering Sea American Fisheries Act (AFA) sectors (50% to inshore, 40% to catcher/processor, 10% to mothership), and 1,900 mt of pollock CDQ DFA is added to the 2026 Bering Sea CDQ DFA. These changes are effective April 3, 2026 through December 31, 2026.
Aleutian Islands allocations reduced
The Aleut Corporation's Aleutian Islands directed pollock allocation is reduced from 12,600 mt to 6,300 mt for 2026, and the Aleutian Islands CDQ directed fishing allowance of 1,900 mt is reallocated away from the Aleutian Islands (AI CDQ DFA becomes 0 mt). These changes apply April 3, 2026 through December 31, 2026.
Bering Sea incidental catch allowance unchanged
The 2026 Bering Sea subarea pollock incidental catch allowance (ICA) remains at 46,000 metric tons for 2026. This limit is unchanged for the April 3, 2026 through December 31, 2026 effective period.
