Study of WIC in Tribes & Territories

The USDA Food and Nutrition Service is conducting a study of WIC operations among 32 Tribal Organizations, 5 U.S. territories administering WIC as State agencies, and 5 tribally operated local agencies. The study aims to improve how nutrition support is given to women, infants, and children in these areas and to help FNS determine WIC coverage rates (the share of eligible people who receive benefits).

Who Must Respond and Time Burden

The information collection will ask 210 respondents (State, local, and tribal governments and individuals/households) to respond once, with a total estimated burden of 268.47 hours. The collection is submitted to OMB as OMB Control Number 0584-NEW, and comments on the collection are requested by May 6, 2026 via www.reginfo.gov.
