Study To Quantify Parking Benefits
FMCSA will analyze survey results to estimate the monetary benefits of creating new truck parking spaces, including decreasing carriers' costs, increasing drivers' well-being, and reducing crashes. The results will be combined with related research to help State and local policymakers and private organizations decide where to build new truck parking spaces.
Truck Drivers: 25‑Minute Survey Request
FMCSA will ask about 1,000 commercial truck drivers to complete a 25-minute online survey about truck parking. Each completed response counts toward an estimated total annual burden of 416 hours and comments on the plan are open until May 6, 2026.
