Redefined Asparagus 'Head' Size
USDA proposes changing the definition of a head from “An upper portion of a shoot which possesses a substantial amount of compact head material” to “An upper portion of a shoot which possesses at least one-half inch of compact head material.” This sets a specific measurable threshold for what counts as head material.
