Required application documents and templates
All applicants must answer questions in GrantEase and upload a draft subgrant agreement using LSC's Subgrant Agreement Template and a subgrant budget using LSC's Subgrant Budget Template. If you plan to subgrant to a new subrecipient that is not a current LSC grantee, or to renew a subgrant with an organization that is not a current LSC grantee in a year you must submit a full funding application, you must also upload that subrecipient's accounting manual, most recent audited financial statements, current cost allocation policy (if not in the accounting manual), and your 45 CFR part 1627 Policy.
Application dates and hard deadline
If you are a current or prospective Legal Services Corporation (LSC) Basic Field Grant recipient, applications to make 2026 mid-year subgrants are available now and applications for 2027 Basic Field Grant subgrants will be available on or around April 13, 2026. The deadline for submitting 2027 Basic Field Grant funding applications is June 1, 2026.
45‑day timing rule for mid‑year subgrants
If you want to make a 2026 mid-year subgrant of LSC Basic Field Grant funds, you must apply through GrantEase at least 45 days before the subgrant's proposed effective date. You must use GrantEase to submit mid-year and 2027 calendar-year subgrant applications.
LSC approval timing and final agreement upload
LSC will evaluate submitted applications and tell applicants any needed changes. For 2026 mid-year subgrants, LSC will notify applicants of approval or disapproval no later than the subgrant's proposed effective date; for 2027 calendar-year subgrants, LSC will notify applicants no later than the date LSC informs applicants of LSC's 2027 Basic Field Grant funding decisions. After review, applicants must upload a final signed subgrant agreement through GrantEase by the date requested.
