CDC will use the call-back information to learn where exposures came from, how people sought care, and whether health messages reached them. CDC says these data can help improve health messaging, disaster and emergency response, and prevent future incidents in the areas affected.

Poison Center Call-Backs: 10-Minute Surveys

If you call a poison center about an exposure during a select public health emergency, CDC-supported poison centers may contact you for a call-back survey. CDC estimates up to 1,500 annual responses (1,200 adults, 150 adolescents, 150 parents/guardians), each taking about 10 minutes, for a total estimated annual burden of 250 hours; there is no monetary cost to respondents.
