VA seeks to import Schedule I cannabis

On April 9, 2026, the VA Cooperative Studies Program applied to import Marihuana Extract (code 7350) and Tetrahydrocannabinols (code 7370), both listed as Schedule I. The application requests authority to import finished dosage unit products containing these substances for research and clinical trial studies only.

Commercial sale imports not permitted

Any registration approval would not allow importing finished dosage forms for commercial sale; authorization will not extend to FDA-approved or non-approved finished dosage forms for commercial sale. Approval will be issued only when the registrant's business activity is consistent with 21 U.S.C. 952(a)(2).
