Analyzed Economic Effects

3 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 2 costs, 0 mixed.

Disease-Prevention Information Collection

The information collection is used to help prevent the introduction of foreign animal diseases such as FMD, ASF, CSF, SVD, ND, and HPAI into U.S. livestock and to support safe trade. APHIS says collecting origin, processing, and destination information reduces the risk that these diseases enter the United States.

Import Certificates and Recordkeeping Burden

If you are a business that exports or imports animal or poultry products to the United States, you must complete and sign certificates and meet processing and recordkeeping requirements. The notice states there are 25,806 respondents and a total of 101,504 burden hours for this information collection (reporting: third-party; on occasion).

Pork-Filled Pasta Certification Requirement

Exports of pork-filled pasta from Swine Vesicular Disease (SVD)-affected regions to the United States must meet specific processing, recordkeeping, and certification procedures, including a certificate signed by the issuing official showing origin, processing facility location, and intended destination.
