Summary
The SEC is giving special permission to certain investment funds to offer both exchange-traded shares (ETFs) and regular mutual fund shares under one fund. This change helps these funds run more smoothly and gives investors more ways to invest. If you want to speak up, you have until May 26, 2026, to request a hearing before the new rules take effect.

Funds May Offer ETF + Mutual Shares
If you own investments, some registered open-end funds have applied for SEC permission to offer one class of exchange-traded shares (ETF Shares) and one or more non-exchange mutual fund share classes under the same fund. Each requested order would let these "Multi-Class ETF Funds" operate an ETF Class consistent with Rule 6c-11 and provide other exemptions listed in the applications, and you can request a hearing by 5:30 p.m. Eastern on May 26, 2026.
