Nasdaq Updates Port Fees Ahead of Tech Migration for Traders

Published Date: 5/8/2026

Notice

Summary

Starting July 27, 2026, Nasdaq Options Market is updating its tech system, so traders will need new and old ports to connect. They’re changing port fees to match this switch but won’t charge for test ports before the migration. This affects all NOM participants and helps make the upgrade smooth and fair.

Free test and duplicate ports during migration

From July 1, 2026 through August 31, 2026 (the Transition Period), NOM will not charge fees for pre-production ports or for new ports that duplicate the type and quantity of a participant's legacy ports. This allows NOM Participants to test connections to the new platform and maintain duplicate connections at no additional port fee during the Transition Period.

Sunset of most legacy ports on Sept 1, 2026

Legacy SQF, SQF Purge, QUO/OTTO, CTI, ITTO/Depth of Market, and BONO/Top of Market Feed ports will be sunset on September 1, 2026. After that date, NOM Participants will not receive data or be able to log into those legacy ports.

FIX port fees assessed starting September 1, 2026

As of September 1, 2026, NOM will assess FIX Port fees to both new and legacy FIX Ports, and legacy FIX Ports will be sunset on November 30, 2026. NOM Participants may return legacy FIX Ports prior to September 1, 2026 to avoid being assessed FIX Port fees.

Charges apply for extra ports beyond July 1, 2026 counts

If a NOM Participant acquires additional legacy or new ports beyond the type and quantity they subscribed to as of July 1, 2026, the Exchange will assess the applicable Options 7, Section 3 port fees for those additional ports. Participants may also elect to obtain fewer ports, since only one order entry and one quoting port are required.
